| | | | | | Race Information | | | Description: | | | | | Whats better way to spend a beautiful, crisp fall Barrington morning than running along the majestic Fox River?
Join us for the 2nd annual Chili Dump Run! A 5k run and fun walk (well-behaved and leashed pets welcomed) The race will begin and end at the Shady Hill Marina,
with the course itself winding through the streets of Shady Hill and Barrington Harbor neighborhoods. (Optional shorter 2k walk course map will also be
posted)
2014 race proceeds will benefit Misericordia, a home with support services for people with developmental disabilities, located at 6300 N. Ridge in Chicago.
Misericordia is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation providing help for those in need since 1921.
Our good friend, Alex Bronton (16), former resident of Lake Barrington Shores and a BMS- Station graduate, is currently living at the Misericordia complex. Alex is our inspiration for this 5k fundraiser.
WHAT’S A CHILI DUMP?!?!?
Every year in October, SHHA (Shady Hill Homeowners Association) holds the annual Board Elections along with a CHILI DUMP and auction fundraiser for the
neighborhood. Residents bring a pot of their favorite chili recipe and it’s all dumped together into a much larger pot to blend the flavors– the result is always some unusual but fabulous tasting chili!
If you are able to stay longer after the race – please join us and bring some of your own fav chili and/or a dish to pass for the Chili Dump & auction after
the race. It’s always a fun time – come and get to know your neighbors and fellow
