It's here again! The 5th Annual Prevent 5K/10K. The race you have been waiting for all year. We had a great turn out last year and we are expecting much more this year. Whether you want to Run, Walk, Jog, or Race, this event is for you. Come and be part of something bigger than you and I. Come join us to help raise money for The Foundation For The Higher Good based here in Columbia as they help make a difference around the world. Every single participant's entry will help raise money for this wonderful charity.

My name is Ryan Hauser and with the help of Tryathletics, the Columbia Track Club, and many others, I will be directing the 5th Annual Prevent 5K/10K. It is going to be even better than last year. We are expecting to have a wide variety of talent at this event. We would like you to run in whichever event you would prefer; however, there will be $$$ CASH $$$ prizes for the top 3 overall male and female finishers and the overall Masters male and female finishers in the 10K.
Packet Pick-Up and On-Site Registration:
Oct. 17 from 4 - 6:30 PM at Tryathletics, located at 1605 Chapel Hill Road in Columbia, MO and from 7:15 - 8:00AM the day of the race at the race site. Registration after October 16th will be $30 for the 5K and $35 for the 10K, so please sign up early. Race T-Shirts only guaranteed if registered by October 4th.

There are two parking lots for the MKT Trail Head, one on each side of Scott Blvd. We will also have additional parking available just north of the trail in Coastal Electric's parking lot (just DO NOT block the gate entrance to the storage units).
Awards:
10K - Top 3 overall male and female finishers and the top overall Masters male and female will receive cash prizes and medals. Age group winners up to 3 deep will receive medals.
Prizes for the 10K will be:
$75 for the 1st Place Overall Male and Female Finisher
$50 for the 2nd Place Overall Male and Female Finisher
$35 forthe 3rd Place Overall Male and Female Finisher
$40 for the 1st Place Overall Masters Male and Female Finisher
***Also, again this year, there will be a $25 bonus to the overall male and female winner of the 5K and 10K if they break the course record.
5K Male record is 16:39 by Lucas Manring - 2012
5K Female record is 18:50 by Catherine Jensen - 2012
10K Male record is 30:46 by Scott MacPherson - 2013
10K Female record is 35:18 by Kate Chettle - 2012
*That is a total of $500 in cash prizes available!
5K - Medals will be awarded to the top overall male and female finishers and also 3 deep in each age group.
Tot Trot - Ribbons will be given to all participants in the Tot Trot ages 2-12.

Award Ceremony will follow the Tot Trot.
There will be food and drinks available after the race.
We will have water stations available about every mile for each race.
