The finish area will close down at 1 pm. Packet pick up time will be 2 pm to 7 pm, Sunday, September 5 in the lobby of the Hampton Inn or 5 am to 5:30 am race day. It began on Labor Day in 1960 with five runners, two of whom completed the course. Running guru Hal Higdon calls it a "down-home country course," and he lists Easley Hill as one fo the 10 toughest climbs in the nation. Jay Nixon, current Governor of the State of Missouri, completed his first HOA in 1978. Forty-seven of the 50 states have been represented by at least one HOA finisher.
