Chicago Full Moon Run
Inaugural 5-Km and 1-Mile Road Race Under the Full Moon!
Welcome to our unique road race charity fundraiser, with all proceeds to benefit the battle against Multiple Sclerosis.
Yep... we'll be racing under the full moon out among the cicadas, crickets, and other creatures of the night. It's an Olympic year, so afterward join us at Mo Dailey's Pub & Grille (just across the RR tracks, 6070 N. Northwest Highway) for refreshments, Full Moon Run awards, and coverage from the London games. How will your finishing time stand up against the Olympic athletes?
July 25, 2012: Attention... Due to first-year permitting restrictions the City of Chicago has requested that we move our race from the streets to the inner sidewalk of Circle Avenue (see revised first-year map below). We appreciate the city's concern for safety and we're grateful for your understanding. Despite this eleventh-hour course adjustment we will still provide...
- a safe, fast, and accurately measured course for both events
- volunteers in high-visibility vests stationed at the five (5) street crossings
- chip timing with instant results for all participants
- tech shirts, awards for top performances, raffle prizes, post-race party for all
Race time is just before sunset and the entire course will be illuminated by the full moon and city street lights. Feel free to bring a head lamp, although you won't necessarily need one.
Awards for 2012... "Chicago Full Moon 5-Km" will present awards, 2-deep to top Age Group Finishers!
