Race Information Race Name: Run For A Vet 5K Date: Saturday October 13th, 2012 - 8:00 am Location: Dubuque - Port of Dubuque State: Iowa, United States Website: www.traveldubuque.com  Go there or Go there in new browser Description: The Run for A Vet 5K will consist of a 3.1-mile run/walk around The Port of Dubuque. The 5k race will begin and end in the McGraw-Hill Parking lot. Race-day registration is available from 6-7 a.m., but no registrations will be accepted after 7 a.m. The Kids race will consist of a 1K run/walk for children 12 years old and younger and begin at the Start/Finish Line at 7:40 am and end at the Start/Finish Line in the McGraw-Hill Parking Lot. Kids must register to participate. EVENT DETAILS Time: 6am — Event Site Opens 6am - 7:15am — Packet Pick up & Late Registration 7:30am – Review Race Rules and Course 7:40am — Kids Race Starts 8am — Run for A Vet Starts Awards Ceremony The Run For A Vet 5K will be USATF sanctioned and have chip timing for all paid runners. Walkers are encouraged to participate but will not be officially timed or given a race packet. The event will be in conjunction with the Vietnam Moving Wall Memorial and will be sponsored by The Diamond Jo with all proceeds from your entry fee benefitting the VA hospital in Iowa City and The Veterans Freedom Center – Operation We Care Program in Dubuque. Each paid participant will receive a T-shirt and refreshments. (Late entries will receive a T-Shirt only if available.) REGISTRATION Starting August 13, interested competitors may register at www.traveldubuque.com or fill out a registration form and mail to 300 Main Street, Suite 200 Dubuque, IA 52001. REGISTRATION PACKETS Packets may be picked up the day before the race, Friday, October 12, from 12-5 p.m. at The Chamber of Commerce or on the morning of the race from 6-7 a.m. RACE LOCATION 501 Bell Street Dubuque, IA 52001 McGraw-Hill Parking Lot AWARDS Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in the 13-19 year division and 20 and over division.
