Join us for the innaugural Flint Ridge Fall 5-Miler, and help support MedicForce, an independent non-profit organization that utilizes first aid and medical professionals to provide free first aid training and care to remote communities throughout the world. Competitors start at the Flint Ridge trailhead at the top of NOC's Wesser campus, run approximately 4.75 miles along trails, and finish riverside by the Nantahala after a quick downhill. This trail offers great scenic images of the fall foliage in the Nantahala Gorge, with awesome views of the river. Enjoy all the fun with us this day as we celebrate our season coming to an end with NOCtoberfest. The Great Pumpkin Pursuit will also be held in which family-appropriate costumed NOCers will disperse over 200 mini pumpkins from rafts through the falls! Paddlers will compete to collect as many pumpkins as possible, because after the Great Pumpkin Pursuit we'll hold a drawing for prizes, including a $500 gift card to NOC's Outfitter's Store. Enjoy live music later, at the Pourover Pub, warm up with hot or cold beverages, and toast your back (or some marshmellows) around fire-master Ron Mitchke's bonfire if the weather gets chilly.
