| | | | | | | Race Information | | | Description: | | | | | ![[logo: Hoosier Burn Camp 5K Run]](images/logo/HoosierBurnCamp5K.gif "Hoosier Burn Camp 5K Run") This is the 2nd Annual Hoosier Burn Camp 5K Run sponsored by the Merrillville Fire Department of Merrillville, Indiana. All proceeds of this event go to the Hoosier Burn Camp Foundation, "A Place to be Just One of the Kids." More information is available from the Merrillville Fire Department, 26 W. 73rd Ave., Merrillville, IN 46410.
Course:
Start and Finish at Merrillville High School, 276 E. 68th Place, Merrillville, IN 46410. The course takes you through the subdivision south of the high school and ends where you started. The course is 100% paved roads. Water stations available at miles 1.2, 2.2, and 3.1 (the Finish). The Kids Fun Run will be 1 mile long and take place partially along the same course as the 5K.
Directions:
From Route US 30: Take Broadway north to 68th Place. Go east on 68th Pl. to SE side of Merrillville High School.
From I-65: Take I-65 to Exit 255 westbound on 61st Avenue. Take 61st Ave. west to Broadway, then south on Broadway to 68th Place. Go east on 68th Pl. to SE side of Merrillville High School.
Cost: $25 if you pre-register $30 on race day for the 5K.
T-Shirts and Awards:
All entrants PRE-REGISTERED by Sept. 30, 2014 are guaranteed to receive a T-shirt.
Awards are for overall fastest male and female, as well as fastest firefighter and police officer. Male and female age group awards for ages 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over.
** NOTE ** The kids fun run has been cancelled due to lack of participant registration. Sorry for any inconvenience.
