The 8th Annual United Way of Huntington County Sprint Triathlon will host both a team and individual triathlon at the Parkview Huntington Family YMCA. Event is open to ages 14 and over.
When
Saturday, August 22, 2015 – 7:15am
Registration and check-in starts at 6:15am.
Where
Parkview Huntington Family YMCA -1160 West 500 North, Huntington, IN 46750
Sprint Distance – 400 yd swim, 13 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
Entry Fees
Individual Sprint Triathlon
Early-bird (January 12- March 13): $40
Regular (March 14-August 22): $50
Student (January 12-August 22): $30
Team Sprint Triathlon
Early-bird (January 12- March 13): $60 per team
Regular (March 14-August 22): $75 per team
The order of events is as follows: swimming, biking, running. Swimming will take place at the YMCA’s indoor pool. Biking will begin and end in the rear parking lot of the YMCA. The biking route is through the hilly, rural roads of Huntington. Bicycle riding helmets required. Running will also begin and end in the rear parking lot of the YMCA. The running route will include going through the beautiful campus of Huntington University. Timing-chips will be used for all events.
Check-in for ALL events is at Parkview Huntington Family YMCA. Registration starts at 6:15 am with race instructions at 7:15 am. Awards will be given at the closing ceremonies for age groups and overall top 3 finishers (age groups TBD).

Refreshments
There will be two water stations located on the course. The first will be located at the run exit of the transition area and the second will be at the half way point of the run course. Additional refreshments and snacks will be provided at the finish line.
Volunteer
Interested in being part of the action, but not sure you are ready for a sprint triathlon? Come out and volunteer! Volunteering is a great way to get involved, have fun, and learn the ins and outs of a triathlon. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Stephanie Morin at smorin@huntingtonunitedway.com. Our events would not be a success without our dedicated and helpful volunteers!
Timing
The event will be timed using the IPICO multi-sport timing tag system. Each participant will be given a timing tag contained in a provided ankle strap. The ankle strap, with the timing tag attached, MUST be worn around your ankle during the duration of the event. If you are a participant on a relay team, the timing tag and ankle strap will serve as your relay "baton" and will be passed to each team participant as they finish their portion of the event.

The Award Ceremony will take place immediately following the event.
Pre-Race Instructions
Pre-race instructions will be posted to the United Way of Huntington County website 5-7 days prior to the race.
