Description:
A Pump and Run event adds a little twist to the traditional 5K run. With just a few repetitions on the bench press, you can shave valuable seconds or even minutes off of your run time.

Before the 5K run begins, participants have a chance to bench press their body weight (or a percentage of it) as many times as they can. For every bench press repetition completed, they will receive a 30 second deduction off of their run time. This significantly evens the playing field for the overall fitness athlete and not just the avid runner. A competitor can deduct up to 15 MINUTES from his/her run time.

You do not have to bench to participate. You can choose from 3 events:
1. Pump and Run combined event
2. 5K Run only (course goes around the mall parking lot)
3. Bench Press contest only

*The same events will be held for kids 12 and under with the following adjustments: 1 mile run; push up contest instead of bench press
