Awards:
All runners will receive a race momento (we are not doing T-shirts this year but I think you will all be happy with your goodies!) and finisher souvenir! 50k and 24 hour finishers will receive a little something extra at the finish line, again it is a surprise so don’t ask!
There will also be awards for the first place finishers (male and female) in each event. There are no age group awards but plenty of chances to win door prizes so don’t forget to check the table before you leave.

Food:
We will offer water and Hammer Heed drink on course with minimal cups so PLEASE bring something to carry water in. We would like our race to be as ecofriendly as possible!
There will also be a variety of food on course including, bananas, PB J sandwiches, pretzels, watermelon, Hammer Gels, cookies, locally grown organic ice, ect…
24 hour racers will have a few hot items to choose from overnight on Saturday along with coffee and oatmeal on Sunday morning.
After the race we will have ice cream sundaes available to all runners. Spectators can purchase sundaes for $1.00. There is a possibility of more concessions but we have not finalized that detail yet. 50k and 24 hour runners will have something more substantial to look forward to at their finish. If you have any requests please reach out to me.

Aid Stations:
There will be one aid station at the start/finish. If it is a hot day we will have ice on course at the half-way point. Your start/finish line will be fully stocked but the other aid station will have ice and water only. There will be an area at the start/finish where all racers can place coolers or bags with any special items they may need.

Bathrooms:
The nature center will be open for us on race day so you have access to flush toilets. We will also have portable toilets at the start /finish.

The Course:
Your race course will be approximately a 3.1 mile loop depending on who’s Garmin you go by. We have measured up to 400+ feet of vertical gain per loop depending on who’s GPS data you believe so be prepared for some hills. Your course will be WELL marked… if you get lost you probably need to take in some electrolytes. Runners will be switching directions on each loop. You will run on dirt, woodchips, pea gravel, and a few small sections of pavement.
Our course is NOT chip timed. The money that would go to a chip timing system goes back to the park. We will be counting your laps but it is your responsibility to check in at the lap counting table at the completion of each loop.

24 hour racers, special instructions:
As a 24 hour racers you have a few extra things you need to know.
In order to be considered for awards you must be present at the start (4pm Saturday) and the finish (4pm Sunday), even if you finished running your miles the day before. If you check out of the race and pack up your things before 4pm on Sunday you will be considered an official finisher but will not be considered for awards. No exceptions.
24 hour racers can have a pacer from 4pm Saturday to 5am Sunday and then from 10am Sunday to 4pm Sunday. There are NO pacers allowed from 5am Sunday to 10am Sunday. 1 pacer at a time please.
24 hour racers will have a separate lap check-in area. You are responsible for making sure your lap is counted. Our volunteers are great but please make sure they see you and you are accounted for.
24 hour racers will have a designated area if they want to put up a tent for sleeping overnight. Tents can be no larger than a 3- person , NO exceptions.
If you decide to leave the course to sleep, go to Mc Donalds, ect… PLEASE let our timing table know when you leave and when you come back.

Rules:
-No littering
-No Littering
-NO LITERRING
-If you leave the race early or quit PLEASE let our timing table know so we don’t send a search party our after you.
-No whining

Timing:
There are no timing chips again this year. We do this to save money as our run is a fundraiser. We will count your laps and give you an overall finish time (last year this system worked very well thanks to our awesome volunteers. Please help out timers by making sure that they see you. This is as easy as calling out your number and making eye contact with the timer. This is extremely important at night when lighting will be slim.

Parking:
There will be parking at the Nature Center. Please look for parking attendants who will direct you on race morning. Please do not park on Rogers Road.
If you have any additional questions feel free to reach out to me directly. Looking forward to seeing all of you in a few weeks!
