| | | | | | Race Information | | | Description: | | | | | This 3rd annual event honors the memory of Connie Dzierzynski Skerston, who passed away unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm at the age of 45 on March 5th 2015. Connie enthusiastically served Illinois Valley Community College (IVCC) for 16 years in administration. A scholarship has been founded in her name to preserve her educational legacy and passion for working with and helping young minds in the Illinois Valley. 100 percent of the entry fee goes to the scholarship fund.
The race begins and ends on the campus of IVCC (815 N. Orlando Smith Rd., Oglesby, IL 61348) and will include a mixed running surface. Registration fee is $25.00 if received by 10/7 ($30.00 after 10/7). Fee includes a T-Shirt, water and light snacks. T-Shirt & size guaranteed if entry is received by 10/7. Early packet pick up available on 10/13 from 11:00am-2:00pm at IVCC main entrance for those who register by 10/7. Race day registration and packet pick up is from 8:00-9:30am. Finish line & Timing by Starved Rock Runners, Ltd. First overall male and female, and first male and female Masters receive a plaque. Awards for top three male and female finishers in 12 age brackets. There will also be an Untimed 1.5 Mile “Walk In Connie’s Steps” event for non-runners.
There is a $1,000 cash giveaway going on now, before the race. $20 per ticket and only 100 tickets will be sold (If interested in a ticket call). Drawing held day of the race 10/14/17 (you need not be present to win). There will also be a Silent Auction going on during the event for numerous items.
