Ice Age Trail 50 - Trail Conditions
Event: ImageCourse conditions - end of March. Living up to it's name, the Nordic Trail in the woods is 90% ice pack. I'm driving size 10 1/2" hex head sheet metal screws. The larger heads work great. Below freezing it's sheer ice. Even with temps in the high 30's screw shoes are essential. The ice pack is anywhere from 3" to almost 12" thick. It will be here for awhile even with higher temps. These shots are between 3.5 miles (high meadow) and 5.5 miles in. Will post more from other areas in next few days. Even on the Ice Age Trail you will find ice pack from hikers and snow shoes.
