Highlight of the weekend was the 14th annual "Book Across the Bay" 10K xc ski and snowshoe race. Commencing at sundown some 3100 skiers and 200 shoers took off from the shores of Ashland, WI following thousands of ice luminaries marking the groomed course across frozen Chequamegon Bay to Washburn, WI. Billy got a personal best maintaining 6:12 pace for the 6¾ distance, finishing in 41:57.5... Shelby came in 17th / 3rd Female overall (sans snowshoes), with a time of 1:01:55.9.
