Title:8th Annual Movin' Shoes Full Moon 5k & Kids' Run
Date:Thursday August 2nd, 2012
Author:Bill Thom & Rich Limacher
As with recently contested "Movin' Shoes Full Moon 5k & Kids' Run" race evening began with ideal weather and temperatures in the upper-70° F range. Starting around 7:00 pm participants began arriving for check-in at Olin Park on the shores of Lake Monona, Madison, Wisconsin.

After runner check-in the kids were up first... the young "Full-Mooners" followed a "Pace Wolf" around the Olin Park Pavilion. Meanwhile, 5K runners assembled up the road at Shore Drive for their 9:00 pm start under the full moon.

Congratulations to multi-year repeat winner Joe Sepe of Madison and Holly Nearman of Milwaukee for finishing first in their respective gender divisions of the 5 Kilometer road race. Some 500 participants completed the Full Moon 5 Km run!

As final runners were completing their race a rare 2012 summer cloudburst rained down upon the finish line, all-the-while the full moon shone from its perch on the horizon.

Timing and finish-line scoring was provided by RunRace.net.
