"Going in Circles" 5K Run / Walk

A steady rain fell throughout the night before race day, leaving Circle Avenue wet and littered with fall colored leaves. By morning the showers ended as more than 150 runners and walkers lined up for the 2nd annual "Going in Circles" 5K.

This event is a labor of love project organized by Corrine Schrieber along with her team of volunteers and benefits the Norwood Park Train Station Foundation. The course is unique in its layout which loops three times around the oval of Circle Avenue in Norwood Park... it's quite spectator friendly and certified by USA Track and Field.

Tom Estka and Karen Grabowski led all runners, winning their respective sex divisions. Tom, of Chicago was first overall with a time of 18:40. Karen, of Chicago was first female in 19:39.

Many local businesses helped sponsor this event and we're grateful for their support to the Norwood Park Train Station Foundation.
