Starry Night Chicago 5K motivates the Chicago and surrounding communities to take a stand against pediatric brain tumors in support of the 28,000 American “stars” living with this disease.
The fundraising event will feature a lantern lighting, a 5K run, 1 - mile walk, a 50-yard dash and other activities for kids, and local entertainment.
Starry night provides a unique experience at Arlington Park as all participants will get to finish on the actual race track! Runners and walkers will see the park as only few ever get to experience it. In addition, everyone will be able to watch themselves on the Jumbotron as they cross the finish line.
Starry Night Chicago will also highlight the story of a child with a brain tumor and honor a local childhood brain tumor hero. At the end of the evening, participants will light up the nighttime sky with lanterns signifying a wish of hope for the future.
Our goal is to raise funds for research to combat the more than 100 types of childhood brain tumors, and to increase supportive services for the growing number of families in need.
