Sorry, but as announced in the PSRR May/June Pacesetter newsletter, the 2017 Challenge has been cancelled and we are no longer taking applications. We hope to be back in 2018 with a new styled event. Watch for our internal club announcement before the end of the year.

This is a new race series for current members of the Prairie State Road Runners. The series consists of (5) circuit races (see below), including the AshleyCan Half Marathon in Bourbonnais, IL on September 10. Participants must also earn one volunteer credit at any qualifying club function. Races must be on the 2017 race circuit, as listed at http://www.psrr.org/circuit-schedule.html. Participants must receive an official finishing time to qualify a race. A custom-made die-cast MEDAL celebrating your achievement will be awarded at the PSRR Awards Banquet in January 2018 to all who complete the challenge.
To qualify, participants must register before June 3, and complete the following during the calendar year:
1. 5K - complete any 5K on the 2017 race circuit
2. 8K - complete either the Frosty 5 Mile (2/12) OR the Kendall County Sweetness 8K (6/3)
3. 10K - complete either the Rockdale Ramblin 10K (4/29) or Canal Connection 10K (11/5)
4. Complete the AshleyCan Half Marathon (9/10)
5. Earn one volunteer credit at any of these events: Irish Fest Parade 5K (3/4); I&M Canal Cleanup (4/22); Club Picnic (6/4); Minooka Summerfest 5K (6/17); DNA/PSRR Free 5K (8/20); Poultry and Pie Predictor (11/23); or any other event or opportunity yet to be announced.
2017 PSRR Membership must be current on the date of the first qualifying event. The deadline to register for this series is June 3, 2017. (This is the date of the last qualifying 8K Race). The price of entry is $10 for members.
