| | | | | | | Race Information | | | Description: | | | | | This race will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Tri-Masters Sports Initiative Programs in Chicago, IL. To mark this occasion, the Matteson Community Center and Village of Matteson are hosting an 8K race and a 1.4 mile fun walk, plus there will be an after party BBQ for all to enjoy. All proceeds from the race will go to support the Tri-Masters Sports Initiative Programs. Special Discount for Tri-Master Athletes
Tri-Master Athletes 1992 to 2021 8K race fee = $30 (30th Anniversary) must register by August 1st and use the coupon code: Tri-Master (enter exactly as is, case-sensitive, only for Tri-Master athletes, we will be verifying all entries!)

The race start/finish area is at: Matteson Community Center

The Courses
8K Race Course (race start time 8:00 am): Course will start at Matteson Community Center and loop through the streets of Matteson with the finish on the track at the Community Center. This will be a USATF Certified Course (measurement and certification pending).

1.4 Mile Fun Walk Course (walk start time 8:05 am): Course will start at Matteson Community Center and loop around Matteson Village Hall with the finish on the track at the Community Center.

Coronavirus Considerations
All in attendance (runners, volunteers, crew, spectators) may be required to wear facial coverings/masks (while not running), and observe 6-feet social distancing practices as prescribed by the guidelines of Restore Illinois Phase 4. Participants are subject to a no-touch forehead temperature screening at check in. Facial coverings/masks are especially important around the aid stations, drop bag area, and when in the start/finish areas. You will need to bring your own facial covering/mask. We will have hand sanitizer, wipes, etc. available at the aid stations.
Aid Stations
Two aid stations serving 8K, located 1.5 to 2 miles apart.
Aid stations will have water and Gatorade or Tailwind.
Restrooms
We will have portable restrooms located near the start/finish areas.
Drop Bag Area
There will be a designated drop bag area in the start/finish area located at the track near the finish line. The drop bag area will be tarps and will be open to the elements. Please do not crowd the space and do not touch/move other people’s stuff.
Packet Pickup / Runner Check-In
All participants must check in on race morning prior to the start of their event. Packet pickup will take place at the race start/finish area at the Matteson Community Center (look for signs). Packet pickup will begin at 7:00am and conclude prior to the start of each event.
At packet pickup, you will receive your bib number, pins, and race shirt. Your race bib number needs to be visible at all times.
Awards
Everyone will receive a race t-shirt.
8K Race: All 8K finishers will receive a finisher's metal. First place overall male and female for the 8K race will receive a plaque.
1.4 Mile Fun Walk: Fun Walk will not be timed, but finishers will be listed in Results as finishers.
Parking
There is plenty of parking at the Matteson Community Center location.
