We are back in-person for the 7th Annual Save the Chimps Chimpathon 5K 10K!
Join us on Sunday, September 26th, 2021 at the St. Lucie County Fairgrounds for the 7th Annual Chimpathon 5K/10K! This race will be chip timed with a flat and fast course! Awards will be given to top finishers and all participants will receive a finisher medal, performance shirt & a goody bag filled with items from our sponsors!
About Save the Chimps, Inc.
Save the Chimps is the largest privately funded chimpanzee sanctuary in the world whose mission is to provide refuge and exemplary care to chimpanzees in need. Save the Chimps offers life-long care for chimpanzees rescued from research laboratories, the pet trade, and entertainment industry.
Your support will help provide quality care to our beloved chimpanzee residents, including fresh and nutritious meals, exceptional veterinary care, innovative enrichment, and the social companionship necessary for the chimps to live happy and full lives.
100% of all funds raised from the 7th Annual Chimpathon will go directly towards caring for our residents.
About the Chimpathon 5K 10K
The 7th Annual Chimpathon will be taking place at the St. Lucie County Fairgrounds on Sunday, September 26th, 2021 at 7:00am. Due to health concerns for our Chimpanzee residents we will not be running through the sanctuary this year. This year's Chimpathon will feature a flat and fast route out and back along Peacock Rd.
Since we cannot run through the Sanctuary this year, we will bring the sanctuary to you! There will be a large movie screen at the race streaming recorded videos and live streams of the Chimps and the Sanctuary! The race area will also be complete with vendors, sponsors food, games & more!
Over 400 people joined us virtually for the 6th Annual Chimpathon and now it is your turn to join us in-person!
Timing & Awards
The Chimpathon will be managed and chip timed by Southern Timing, LLC. All participants will receive live results and an individual finisher page complete with a commemorative finisher certificate, results, pace breakdown & a 20 second clip of you crossing the start and finish line!
Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers in each category:

Masters
Age Group
10 & Under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 70 & Over
There will be no awards for the virtual race.

Did you know it costs $21,000 to care for one Chimp a year? That is why every dollar raised counts for the Chimpathon, you can set goals for yourself or for your team! Virtual Race
Can't make it to the in-person Chimpathon? Don't worry! With our virtual race you can show your support from anywhere within the US! All virtual packets will ship Monday September 27th following the completion of the in-person race. You can track your time using your own device or with the Asics Runkeeper App that we have provided for you. Times are not required to be submitted to receive your swag. You can submit your time anytime before or after the race. | | | | |
