| | | | The information of your selected race is detailed here. Information is posted and managed by race directors. Although information listed here is assumed to be accurate it's a good practice to confirm with a race director or specific race website before planning to attend a race! | | | | |
| | | | | Race Information | | Description: | | | | | We're doing a 5K distance to test your off-season mojo on a super fast track (Hint: no wind/no hills)
In addition, our Race Director has decided that it is time to get serious about pushing yourself. Instead of a fixed distance event longer than 5K, we are going to run as far as you can in one hour! Sure, you may wish to compete against the runner for you (and how much fun is that!) but you are also going to push yourself farther and faster than you ever have just because you know the clock is clicking...down!!!!
But wait -there is even a third option?!?!? We have a "virtual" Outside running option. This is for the people that don't necessarily like running inside in circles but want to support the great causes associated with this race, want the cool Strider PR travel tumbler, and want to enjoy the post run party.
This race is one of the many ways Striders support our local charities. Our race will be collecting new toys for the Milwaukee Rescue Mission to distribute to local boys and girls in the Milwaukee area. Please bring an unwrapped toy to help make these holidays a little nicer for a kid in need.
*** participants are asked to bring an unwrapped toy that will be donated to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission and be distributed to local children ***
Greatest needs are the $10 to $15 gifts for Boys and Girls ages 10 – 13. Suggested gift ideas include watches, wallets, jewelry, handheld games, and remote control cars. No gifts will be turned away. Thank you!
Aid Station: Runners must bring their own water bottle because open cups are not allowed near the track due to spillage concerns. There will be water bottle storage tables at one end of the track staffed by volunteers who can refill your bottles with water or Gatorade.
Portable Music Devices: For safety reasons, headphones will not be allowed on the course. Music will be played over the speaker system by Scott and requests WILL be considered so think of a song that will motivate you and make your request at the venue.
Schedule:
7:15 am – Registration and Bib Pickup for 5K race
7:45 am – 5K race
8:00 am – Registration and Bib Pickup for one hour race
9:00 am – One hour race
10:00 am - Post Race Party!
Swag this year is a Vacuum Travel Tumbler and Insulator (similar to a Yeti) that can be used for drinks or take off the lid and it can be a coozie for your beer or soda | | | | |
