9th Annual MadCity Ultras in Madison, Wisconsin
This year's MadCity Ultras featured events of...
* MadCity 100K USATF National Championship Road Race
* MadCity 50K Solo Road Race
* MadCity 50K 5-Member Team Relay Race
Saturday April 12 race-day conditions: low temperature of 35° F, high temperature of 63° F, SSW winds at 5 mph, gusting to 17 mph, sunrise 6:22 am, sunset 7:35 pm. Historically, April 12th has averages: high temperature of 55° F, low temperature of 34° F.
This race is in its ninth year under race director, Tim "Timo" Yanacheck. The 100 kilometer USATF National Championship road race started at 6:30 am under official starter, Bill Dodson, 80 of Mountain View, California. Bill was also a participant in the 100-km event, attempting a run at the existing American record of 17:39:46. Nick Accardo was the fastest returning participant having finished third place in the 2014 MadCity 100K with a time of 7:11:33.3.
The 50 kilometer solo and relay events started at 8:00 am with 39 solo runners, and 71 relay teams.
