| | | | | | Race Information | | Description: | | | | | THE 2023 ICE AGE TRAIL RACES ARE SOLD OUT. We are keeping a wait list for the 50-mile race only. To add your name, click on the pencil icon at the bottom of the registration page.
The Ice Age Trail 50 is one of the oldest, continuously running ultras in the United States. Our 41st annual race will be held on May 13, 2023.
Organized and staffed entirely by volunteers and sponsored by the Badgerland Striders, a local nonprofit running group, the Ice Age Trail races include three distances: 50-mile, 50k and Half Marathon. The 50-mile and 50k courses follow the Ice Age National Scenic Trail through Wisconsin's Southern Kettle Moraine Forest. The trails are mostly wooded, passing through evergreen and deciduous forests, marshes and prairies and exposing runners to the geologic remnants of the last Ice Age 10,000 years ago. The terrain varies from wide, rolling trails to twisting, root and rock-covered single track. The Half Marathon is run on wooded cross country ski trails.
With plentiful aid stations, generous course markings and excellent volunteer support, the Ice Age 50 offers a great trail running experience for both first time and veteran ultrarunners.
REGISTRATION: Sunday, December 18.
All three Ice Age races usually sell out within hours -- often minutes -- so runners are encouraged to sign-up when registration opens.
Registration for the 50-mile race begins at Noon CST; the 50K at 3:00 and the Half Marathon at 6:00 p.m.
If you experience significant delays during the registration process, EMAIL the Race Director immediately at iceage50rd@gmail.com. Please do not use social media to communicate with race headquarters.
Your registration buys:
• Race Entry
• Commemorative tech t-shirt
• Finisher's Award
• Wisconsin State Park day pass
• Catered BBQ Lunch
• A post-race party with free microbrews from Central Waters Brewery and live music!
A portion of your entry fee will also be donated to the Ice Age Trail Alliance and the Kettle Moraine State Forest Alliance.
