Coronavirus considerations
The race will follow all safety precautions required by the Chicago Park District at the time of the race. Details will be emailed to participants.

Spectators and Crew Support
In order to be consistent with USATF Rules and Regulations, crew support providing food and hydration is only allowed at the designated aid stations. Crews and spectators on bikes should be extremely careful of pedestrians, runners, and other bikers as the lakefront path will be open to the general public during the race.

Aid Stations
Two aid stations (There will be no aid station at Recreation Drive). The aid stations are 5.2 miles apart, at the turnaround locations for the 50k race. The 50 milers will have access to the North Ave Beach aid station twice each loop, going outbound and inbound (this distance is a 2.2 mile loop). The aid stations serving both the 50-Miler and the 50K are located on the Lakefront Trail at:
• North Avenue Beach, just west of the North Avenue Beach House, and east of the Parking Lot (5.2 miles from start/finish/north turnaround).
• There is also an aid station and drop bag at the start/finish area, at the north turnaround spot at Foster Ave Beach.

Aid stations at the north and south turnarounds will have water, Tailwind, Coke, Mountain Dew, Ginger Ale. For food we will have assorted cookies, chips, pretzels, M&M’s, nuts, and some other goodies. Note that the aid stations do not have energy gels, so plan accordingly. Volunteers will be at the aid stations to handle the drink and food items. You will have access to your drop bag at each north turnaround loop, so if you are not comfortable with using the aid station supplies, please bring your own supplies and/or have your crew help support you.

WE ARE GOING CUPLESS!!!
HydraPak is our new Cupless Racing Partner. HydraPak is providing a FREE SpeedCup to all runners, available at runner check-in. Please pack and carry your reusable, foldable SpeedCup for water, Tailwind, and soda. We also strongly encourage you to bring your own hand held water bottle, hydration bottles and vest, Camelback, etc.
Exclusive HydraPak Discount: All race participants can enjoy a 20% discount on HydraPak products by visiting www.HydraPak.com and using the code "LAKEFRONT-CR20" at checkout.
Here is a short video clip from HydraPak regarding their Cupless Racing Program and suggestions for how to race cupless - HydraPak Cupless Racing

Restrooms/Port-a-Potties
We will have portable restrooms located near the start/finish areas and at the North Ave Beach House aid station. There are no other facilities on the course. Restroom facilities/buildings maintained by the Chicago Park District are scheduled to be closed before the race date.

Drop Bag Areas
There will be large designated drop bag areas in the start/finish area in order to help with social distancing. The drop bag areas will be tarps, and they will be open to the elements. The extra space should allow everyone to have their own space without being too close to each other. Please do not crowd the space and do not touch/move other people’s stuff.

You will have access to your drop bag every time to finish a loop at the Foster Ave Beach location. I have always found that using a small cooler works great as a drop bag. That gives you something protected from the elements, and if it is a hard-sided cooler, it gives you a place to sit, if needed.

Packet Pickup / Runner Check-In
All participants must check in on race morning prior to the start of their event. Packet pickup will take place at the race start/finish area, Foster Avenue Beach House. Packet pickup will begin at 6:30am and conclude prior to the start of each event.

At packet pickup, you will receive a timing chip, your bib number, pins, race shirt, and reusable, collapsible silicon SpeedCup provided by HydraPak. Your race bib number must be worn on the front of your body and be visible at all times.

Awards
Everyone will receive a race shirt. All 50K finishers (including early starters) will receive a finishers' medal. Belt buckles will be awarded to 50 mile runners who complete the race within the 11-hour time limit (early starters will also receive belt buckles if they complete the entire distance before the course closes). First place overall male and female for each event distance will earn a very special recognition award.

Early Starters
If you would like to start early for either race, please contact me at info@ChicagoUltra.org to let me know. We must keep track of who is starting early.

Parking
There is plenty of parking at the Foster Avenue Beach House location. There is a large parking lot immediately south of the Foster Avenue Beach House and additional parking east of the soccer fields south of the beach house. There is free parking along the soccer fields south of the beach house along N Simonds Drive. Parking in the parking lots is paid parking using the Park Chicago app or the meter stations.

Post-Race Beans and Rice
Bring a chair, or grab one of ours, and enjoy a bowl of Beth Onines's Famous Beans and Rice. Beth's Vegan friendly recipe will be served for all finishers - while supplies last.
