"Going in Circles" 5K Run / Walk
A steady rain fell throughout the night before race day, leaving Circle Avenue wet and littered with fall colored leaves. By morning the showers ended as more than
runners and walkers lined up for the 3rd annual "Going in Circles" 5K.
This event is a
labor of love
directed by Corrine Schrieber, Sandi Abrajano, Mike Kinsch, and Ellen Wierzewski along with their team of first class volunteers which benefits the Norwood Park Train Station Foundation. The course is unique in its layout which loops three times around the oval of Circle Avenue in Norwood Park... it's quite spectator friendly and certified by
USA Track and Field
Ryan Giuliano and Katie Hauser led all runners, winning their respective sex divisions. Ryan, of Schaumburg was first overall in a new course record of 15:59.5. Katie, of Ingleside led all of the fairer sex and lowered the female course record to 18:57.6.
