| | | | | | Race Information | | | Description: | | | | | ![[Logo: Pairing up to Beat Lung Cancer 5K/1Mile Run/Walk]](../images/logo/pairingUpLungCancer5k_310-180.jpg) A 5K or 1 Mile run/walk starting at Midtown Athletic Club and continuing through the scenic red loop of Deer Grove East before returning to Midtown at 1760 N. Hicks Road in Palatine, IL. The 5K can be run or walked solo or as a 2 person team. Teams can be male, female, or mixed. To run or walk as a team, the two partners must each register separately and list their partner's name so that we can match you up in the results. The event is chip timed, with results published immediately after the event on the RunRace website. Long-sleeved T-shirts for all participants registering by October 25! Awards for the 5K event for first overall male and female and 1st, 2nd & 3rd male and female in 5 year age groups. Teams of 2 scored with 20 year age groups and combined time, awards for 1st and 2nd in each age group, regardless of gender. For the 1 mile fun run or walk, you will get a time and a finisher's award, only overall 1st male and female awards, no age group awards.
100% of the profit goes to Northwest Community Hospital's (NCH) Foundation to provide assistance for people diagnosed with lung cancer treated at NCH. Patients living with lung cancer and their families have been helped with household expenses, rent or mortgage because of the generous donations to the Lung Cancer Fund.
